The image to the left was found at Find A Grave. It is actually listed under "Mahalia Griffith" and it reads "With Thomas". On Thomas' page, it only lists his birth & death dates.
Thomas and Mahala GRIFFITH are my paternal 4th great grandparents.
A Note About Thomas & Mahala
I was stumped for a long time on these two. I couldn't find one shred of evidence that the 1850 US Census was the same family as the 1870 US Census. You see, in 1870, Thomas and Mahala are listed as "John & Halie", but they still have the three children Joshua, Caroline and Daniel at home, but no one else. It wasn't until I found the 1860 US Census that those three children were listed with Thomas & Mahala, as well as the other children, with coordinating ages and states of birth for all.

ReplyDeleteHi Trista! Yes, I still access this page, though it's been a while. I go in spurts with my genealogy searches otherwise the information just gets crowded and convoluted in my head. Have you researched the Griffith end of your lineage at all? If so, does the information I have posted match up with yours?
DeleteMy "grand plan" was to eventually find out all the various lines of the family "one day", to see how far spread we all were. Unfortunately, my frustration with being unable to afford documentation & research for such a task lead me to searching Google Books, which can be quite interesting, if not a bit repetitive.
